Normally here in the UK politics don't come into it when they talk about something like this, but this time one day Ed Milliband the Labour party leader was in favour of supporting the Coalition, the next day he changed his mind, he used it to play party politics. I am glad myself that they voted against though, I think they should have taken more time to discuss it before having a vote.
I don't think it's a very good idea to get involved in this problem in Syria, whoever runs this country wouldn't be any better.

Sometimes I wonder how a libertarian would do. Ideologically pure libertarians would be even worse than the two parties we have now. But, suppose you could find a moderate libertarian. That person could be almost perfect for todays situation. Here in VA. in the governors race we have a extremist right wing conservative republican and a weak democrat and most of the general public doesn't care for either one to any great degree, but there is a libertarian moderate that makes a lot sense and when he speaks he talks only on the issues where the other two just castigate each other. I checked him out on the web sites and I am going to cast my vote for him, a first for me.

The problem with being a moderate is that we are seen as being weak and constantly in the middle or giving up on principals. Nonsense. Moderates are necessary for all aspects of life. Nothing get accomplished without them, not financial problems, family difficulties, political difficulties. Nothing. Just look at Washington D.C., now. You have two diametric extremes and they can't see their way to the middle with a flashlight. I recently read an article by a psychiatrist where she said that moderates were the most necessary element of any attempt to solve most problems. I will admit that being a moderate my head swelled until I couldn't even get my hat on, but hey, I only human.
