I think this depends on how many games each of them win. The number can be different from season to season.

I should have been more specific: i.e. REGULAR SEASON GAMES. Obviously, being in post-season play would result in an indeterminable number.
I'm not a baseball fan. The season is far too long and the games are far too long. I watch football. The number of games the teams will play against each other, depends on the number of games they win. Seems digger was able to answer your question.
