It is our secret, do not tell your mommy that I let you (do it, have it) .  What many a grandparent live by...  Then they rat you out anyway! 

I told my son that I changed my name and unless he could guess the new on, he was being ignored……….

Well....you could say you are waiting for lunch guests but are not too sure when they'll arrive...

Or....you could say Sasquatch clans have turned the park into a nursery for baby 'Squatches!!

Just tell him the truth. He'll get over it. He'll always be there wanting to hang out with you untill he's about  12. Then, he will act like he doesn't know you. Or maybe 12 yr old girls are more like that than boys. They'll be that way untill they're 16 or 18.

"I'm not allowed to be amused on (day of week)" would have worked for not going to the amusement park.  
Last time I tried that, the seven dwarfs and Snow White held me captive for 3 weeks. I don't dare try again.

You don't want to do that during a full moon (half moon, quarter moon).  It's bad luck.
