I knew a family who had family night every Monday. No TV, no video games, no computer, FAMILY TIME. Often they played cards or a board game.
So, it's "family night". What are ya gonna do?
I like Hearts, Spades, Cribbage, Pinochle. Dominoes, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary.

We never played Monopoly with any of them again, and, to this day, it's not one of my favorites.
I have played Hearts... and Skat. I don't know any others.

I like reading a book together. Each reader reads a page or so to a good “pass the book” place. Really big books like The Urantia Book and A Course In Miracles can take a full year or more to wade through. Study groups of maybe 10 readers, stopping to talk about the subject occasionally, or to take a break is common. I have been in many book reader groups like this and have attend several reader groups a week on different evenings. There are many reader groups on different subjects. One group was into Steven King. I liked the religious reader groups studying books on every religion on the planet. The advantage of reader groups is the the broad collective understanding of other people with you…. understanding a possably deep subject that is too deep to shoehorn into your own brain in one fell swoop.
