    Things You'll Need
Apple dock connector to USB Cable

    Instructions
    Preparation

    1
Open your Web browser and navigate to Apple's website. When there, click on the "iTunes" tab, and then select "Download iTunes" from the top right hand corner of the browser window.

    2
Install iTunes by following the steps, when prompted, by the iTunes installation program. You may have to restart your computer to finalize the process.

    3

Open your newly installed iTunes. Connect your iPhone with the Apple dock connector to USB cable, entering the necessary information to register your phone. When you select your options, be sure to select "Manually Manage Music and Videos." This will allow you to control what music goes onto your iPhone, as opposed to everything being transferred automatically. The iPhone will now be synched to your computer.

    Transfer Music

    4
Insert a CD into your computer and it will automatically open up in iTunes. The name of the CD, as well as song names will be populated, and there will be a pop-up asking if you would like to import the CD into iTunes. Select "Yes." If the names did not populate, select "No," and manually enter them. You will then have to select "Import CD" at the bottom right of iTunes. Apple Support clarifies this on their website: "If your computer is connected to the Internet, iTunes will automatically look up information for the CD such as song name, album and artist. This feature will work with most commercially produced audio CDs."

    5
Click on "Music" under the iTunes library. The song titles will appear there as soon as they are uploaded. After the entire CD is uploaded, select all of the songs and simply drag them into your still connected iPhone.

    6
Look at your iPhone, but keep it connected. While it is accepting the songs, it will say "Synch in progress," but as soon as it has finished, you are free to disconnect the iPhone. Your songs will be there under "Music" and they will be ready to play.
