What do you like to watch on TV?

We’ve probably had this question before but here it comes again.  I like The Big Bang Theory and maybe I’ll start watching Breaking Bad.  My son told me to watch The Castle. I tried it but the sound didn’t come in on my TV. It’s about a lower middle-class family in Australia. : )

Did you see the finale of Hell's Kitchen last night by any chance?
    FISH-O

Why yes I did.... I picked Ja'nelle as the winner from the beginning... and I still don't like Dan... What a jerk. Mary was the little engine that could.

Wasn't he awful? Mary sure is sweet. I also picked Ja'nelle because I thought, not only is she a very creative cook but also that she was just the coolest under fire...never seemed to become flustered. A job like that would drive me crazy!
    Bob/PKB

I liked John and Cindy. When they blew the quality tests, I knew they were out. I can't believe Dan wasn't a "plant". No one should be that unpleasant. Nedra was a waste of time, too.

@Bob...It seems as though every reality show needs a villain...Dan fit the role quite nicely.
    Bob/PKB

Narcissist to the extreme. I kept wanting to give him a chance at first, but he really earned his way off that show. YUCK. What an a**.
    FISH-O

I thought it would be Jon against Ja'nelle but Mary came up from behind... she really worked hard.

At the end Dan told Mary he would make it up to her.... How? ... What a horrible person.
    FISH-O

@ Bobette.... What a gluteus maximus!
    Bob/PKB

I heard that, too. What a crock. He was just out to sabotage whoever got stuck with him.
Mary making it to the final two surprised me. I really, really liked Cindy and John. They were always a little more concerned with what THEY were doing wrong than complaining about everybody else.
I'm glad John got to keep his coat!
    Bob/PKB

Dan won't even be embara**ed when he sees the show. NO ONE will want to have him in their nice kitchens. I'm surprised he is a head cook anywhere.
    FISH-O

He is a Tuchus to the maximus.
    Bob/PKB

    Anatomically speaking!
    FISH-O

Anatomically, scientifically and biologically speaking, verbalizing and orating.
    Bob/PKB

I think I need to take the dog for a walk. :)

    Mysteries....Dateline, 48 Hours, Medical Mysteries

Reality....Survivor, American/Canadian Idol, Celebrity Apprentice, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and the really sick one....Bachelor/Bachelorette.

    Movies.....Drama, Murder Mysteries

No wonder I have no time to get anything done at home!!!        :)

I forgot....golf. Today is the Canadian Open.
    Bob/PKB

Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen! I was really hoping John or Cindy would win. Haven't seen the "cookoff" where Christina wins, so was upset to see her in the Jan'el episode. :(
Who do you like for Master Chef?

Only if you like to watch a huge dating game, with lots of drama (boo hoo), heartbreak (boo hoo) and every once in a while....it's a MATCH!! Then, they get married and live happily ever after. That has actually happened 3 or 4 times now.

I think young people have many opportunities to meet. Older people (such as moi) don't have as big a playing field. I'd like to see a "Senior Bachelorette/Bachelor" show.

I've thought that too...why not put seniors on this show? Well, perhaps the "energy level" would not be quite so interesting to watch? :)

@Bob...Master Chef...anybody but Krissi! She's a brutal know-it-all who loves back stabbing everybody. I can't imagine having to work with her.
    Bob/PKB

I don't know. Probably less "beauty" would mean less viewers. I get sick of the whining and backstabbing, and how the "contestants" are so much "in love" and want to marry someone they barely know.
    Bob/PKB

Krissi and Natasha are both hags. What a sourpuss on Natasha. Jessie bothers me, too. I feel for Lucca. He's not the best cook, for sure, but he is such a good addition to team challenges. Who's left? Krissi, Natasha, Jessie, Eddie, Brandon, James, and Lucca. Hmmm.

Bachelor Bob is a playboy...has dumped many girls since he was on the show. :(

Game Shows:  Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
    Reality Shows:
Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, American Baker, Project Runway, Dancing With The Stars.   I also like the shows about people buying/remodeling homes and Flea Market Flip.
Drama: Criminal Minds, NCIS, Law and Order (both), 48 Hours, Bones, Castle (tho' it's gotten ridiculous), the cop show with Gary Oldman, and Body of Proof (tho' Megan is just too smarty-pants)
Comedy:  Friends, Frasier, Cheers, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, How I Met Your Mother
I like shows about true crime (and books, too).
    I like an occasional
    Family Guy, American Dad, Tosh.O
Mind you now, I don't watch all these shows every day.  AND I have "On Demand", which helps.  Thinking about Netflix, but can just see myself marathon watching different series.

If you like popcorn, we could probably watch TV together all week. :D

    No doubt. :)

When we first got Netflix, I spent time and more time watching Desperate Housewives. It was soooo good. After all that wonderful desperation, I watched in moderation. (usually) Got Netflix about a year ago. Well worth it.
    Bob/PKB

I think my son and I are just about ready...I really hate to think I'll be watching more TV!!

Golf, Football (NFL), Turner Classic Movies (TCM), The Waltons, M*A*S*H and most any British comedy. Absolutely no reality shows.

Oh and NCIS, Criminal Minds and CSI Miami (the one with Horatio Caine).

    itsmee

Ahhhhh, The Waltons! I haven’t thought of that show for about 20 years. I’m going to see if I can find any ~ same with M*A*S*H

If your TV service provider has INSP as a channel, then you can find the Waltons there.
    itsmee

They might be on my Netflix. I know nothing of INSP.

INSP has a lot of daytime religious programming. Mainly evangelicals trying to guilt money out of people. They like to run that movie that Randy is always promoting here for troubled marriages. Can't remember the name off hand but they run it A LOT. I still have yet to watch it. Going by the promotional commercials for it, it looks cheesy and overly melodramatic and I'm sure, meant to be a tearjerker. If I'm ever in the mood for emotional drama, I might watch it to see what the fuss is all about. According to Randy, this movie can save marriages. In the evenings however they switch to the "wholesome" TV shows of the 70's, 80's and 90's. Happy Days, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Dr. Qinn, medicine woman and the Golden Girls (I think). So if you like all those old shows, you can find them on INSP. (Inspiration channel). I'm good with just the Waltons.
    Bob/PKB

I stumbled upon M*A*S*H a couple of days ago and couldn't get away from it. What a great show. NCIS and Criminal Minds are two of my must-see.

I have the complete M*A*S*H series on DVD yet I still can not pass over the show if I see it on TV. One of the best shows ever. It is rumored that Cote de Pablo (Ziva) may be leaving NCIS. :( The team would not be the same without her. Pauley Perrette was suppose to be leaving too but have not heard any more updates.
    Bob/PKB

I would miss Pauley. Cote's character has so little animation that I've never liked her much. That attraction between her and DeNozzo doesnt' work for me, either. But I'll miss her "cool".
    Colleen

Everyone needs an Abby! And you hit it with "I'll miss her "cool"" concerning Ziva. I like that the character was not the stereotypical overly emotional "tough chick". I hate when writers try to write "female emotion" into to what is suppose to be a tough, independent female but then have her get all "female emotional" and dependent on a man. Something I was afraid they would do with her and Tony.
    Bob/PKB

Yep. If they had scripted Tony and Ziva to get together for real, it would have made the show ridiculous. Tony needs to stay the eligible bachelor.

Right now I could watch THE BIG BANG THEORY over and over.  Unfortuanantly, the roommate doesn't watch reruns..........

    Bob/PKB

Like how some people don't eat leftovers.
    jhharlan

That man in Missouri City wouldn't eat leftovers. I cook for the left overs and watch THE BIG BANG THEORY over and over......
    Congrats on the 500K!
    Bob/PKB

I thought I'd have leftovers from the large slab of London Broil I BBQd last night. There is hardly any left this morning. My son had a midnight "snack". :D
I love the story about the family who grew up having leftovers EVERY night. The kids always wondered what (or WHO) they were leftover FROM!
Re the 500k. Thanks. That is a big achievement for me and I'm thankful so many people have appreciated my questions and answers. Doesn't come near you and the other big guns; your efforts are herculean!
    mycatsmom

jh, Get him his own TV.
    jhharlan

We're in a 400 sq. ft. apartment, two TVs wouldn't work........
    itsmee

I could watch Big Bang Theory over and over. My room mate doesn’t watch reruns either, Julie. BUT ...I can get THE BIG BANG THEORY from the beginning of time on Netflix on the internet. : ) I would figure that you’d like that show.
    jhharlan

I had netfix for a while but don't like sitting so long in my office chair, old war wound.......
    Bob/PKB

Yeah. Too much sitting. I've been a little mre active, bicycling and swimming, but it's still not enough. Dinner sounded delicious.
I use to watch a lot of telly not any more just rubbish on there in winter it's better or maybe there is not much else to do in winter lol

Do you guys watch  " Naked and Afraid "  ?    It's like Survivor - - - -only it's one man and one woman.......and they're naked as the day they were born.  I think it comes on Sun night at  11pm

    bustieone

kinda weird, but as reality shows go, it will stay, it has sex, and relationship stuff, even women like it, not really porn, but simple hinting at the nudity.
    mycatsmom

bustie, They show a lot of naked butts. For men that like that, they should go to that channel.
