I've read through some forums that discuss this. The general consensus is no, the cpap machine does not diminish taste and smell. They do however say that many of the nasal sprays that people use to offset the nasal dryness the machine causes can cause a loss of smell and taste.

The CPAP comes with a reservoir that you add water to so the patient doesn't experience nasal dryness. Problems arise when the machine is not kept clean or the hoses and masks are not replaced often enough. As far as losing your sense of smell, I know of none.
