    The most agreed upon answer is the one called accretion, and the idea is that gravity pulled together small pieces of rock and dust. Eventually enough material gathered together to create a considerable gravity well. There was a bit of competition for building material, as there were a few other planets trying to get stuff for themselves. The earth finally formed some 4.5 billion years ago.

    Creationists believe that the earth and everything that is in it, plants, animals humans, etc  was created in 6 days about 6,000 years ago. If you want to believe this theory it helps if you are American or Muslim

    Yes, some Christians in the UK believe in Creationism, but in the USA almost 50% (mostly Republicans) are believers.
