Things You'll Need
Bristled brush
Bleach
Water
Bucket
Pressure washer
Spray bottle
Salt
Instructions
1
Blast away as much of the moss on the patio as you can using a pressure washer. Turn down the pressure on the washer, if possible. Using the washer at full strength could cause the brick mortar to come loose.
2
Spray the brick patio with a mild mix of bleach and water, such as three parts bleach to seven parts water. Allow it to soak in and kill the remainder of the moss in the mortar and cracks.
3
Scrub the patio with a bristled brush and more bleach spray to get rid of the leftover moss that the first bleach spray killed. Scrub thoroughly.
4
Wash the brick patio again with the pressure washer to rinse off the bleach and particles that you scrubbed off. Allow to dry.
5
Spray the patio with a salt water mixture of about five parts salt to five parts water. Salt kills vegetation, and it will keep the moss from growing back.
6
Look around the patio area for the shade that is aiding the mosses growth. Trim back limbs if possible to allow the area to dry occasionally in the sun.
