There is not much testing done on natural products and the natural products don't come with DIN numbers as the pharmaceuticals do.  The pharmaceutical companies also have lobbyists, power and money behind them.  The natural product companies are quite small in comparison.

I don't live in Ontario but, I do live in British Columbia.  I try to take care of my health in natural ways.  I would like the last ten years of my life to be as quality filled as possible and so, my health is my responsibility.  The health system in Canada is what it is and a lot better than most.  I am grateful for what I do have.  That being said, I do a lot of research, grow my own organic foods, eat within 100 miles of my home and know the farms where the produce and meat products come from that my family consumes.  We use natural products to clean our home and keep our life a simple as possible.

I would prefer to see the government cover supplements, vitamins, natural medications and consultations with Naturopathic Doctors instead of putting so much money into paying for prescription drugs and tests (most of them proving nothing) and trips to traditional doctors. Preventive (alternative) medicine would save any country, millions of dollars every year, with far fewer side effects from "bad medicine".
