I suffered with them... they began sporadically about 8 years ago but, in the past year they increased to experiencing one every day beginning at about 9:00 or 10:00 AM and pretty much lasting the bulk of the day unless I was otherwise occupied by conversation or large projects. Even so, I was still filled with anxiety.
I can't tell you what triggers panic attacks other than they began getting much more severe after my sister passed away. I have had a very difficult time coming to terms with her death. Some of them began with one small thought and others just began from a small feeling.
I have done a lot of work and research ... meditation, working on my Chakras and one teeny tiny pill prescribed by my Doctor.
My anxiety/panic attacks are under control now. I can drive my vehicle on the highway, go shopping at Costco alone and talk to people about my art again. It feels like a miracle.
