I think your dad may not want the smell inside. You might ask him what it is about a hamster that he does not seem to like. You sound like a nice young person. Don't pester, but let us know Dad's reason. Use the "Comment this answer" under my answer so I can keep up with you.

You respect your parents' decision and keep being the best person you can. Have a peaceful discussion about their reservations about the hamster and how you can earn their trust that you are responsible enough to have a hamster. They may just not like hamsters. Study up on them, so you know what kind and amount of care a hamster needs.  Good luck!

I agree with you Bob. My brothers Hamster convinced my parents not to get another one for me. I was ok-ed for a cat or dog, but nothing exotic except an aquarium or a parakeet. I wanted time to consider and it wasn’t long before my parents brought home a Toy Fox Terrier. The dog grew up to be a friend of mine and many more dogs after that. Presently I have pet chickens and they keep weeds down in the yard and provide enough eggs to pay their own way in eggs as well.

Chickens scare me almost as much as swans, ducks, and geese , exceptthe crippled chick my son brought home from school (the incubator project, 5th grade). Mr. Peepers slept in our laps.

its me. the imawesome kid. but like my friend logged me off by accident, and i cant remember my password. so ya.

Ask your dad.. they cave in so much easier..!!

Go to the beach and pick yourself a nice pet rock!  Your parents will like this idea, and thus your life at their house will be easier...

I will say them that i am the one will buy.
