    Should Cyclist have to pay insurance ,as do motorist,and road tax,??

    Cyclist use roads for which they pay nothing, neither for the tarmacing, the markings, nor even the cycye lanes where they exist. I am a keen cyclist and a small tax and insurance seems fair though anything that discourages cycling would be a bad move.

    Not if they stick to the cycle lanes, the idiots who cycle on the pavements should be prosecuted though.

    In london a lot of them go through red traffic lights,have special lanes laid out for them,that only a few use etc,etc,I Have been a cyclist,in the days when you had to go by the rules of the road,ie road signs etc,

    Me too Dennis, if cyclists stick to the rules there should be no problems and then no need for insurance.

    What if they should run into someone and injure them ,that would leave them with no official claim,
