This remote should already be set to it's own receiver. To set other options these are the instructions the Onkyo webpage gives:

How do I program my learning remote control to work with other none Onkyo components?

Position the front face of the two remotes one inch from each other. On the Onkyo remote control, select the source you want to program. You will find this in the in the mode section. Simultaneously hold down the desired mode and the ENT button at the bottom of the remote. Then release. The send/ learn light located on the top will be lit. Select the operation button you wish to program. POWER ON, VOLUME CONTROL etc. Once selected, choose the same function on the other remote. To complete programming, you must press the Macro Mode button. located on the top right side of the Onkyo remote. You have to repeat these steps for each function you want to use.
