Spanish is more 'romantical' , but that is my personal opinion. Think about where and when you will use this new language that you learn. If you don't use it you will loose it. I know, I took nine years of French and the only thing I can do in France is order a Ham Sandwich... not useful for a vegetarian.

I can still say "Open the door" and "Shut your mouth". Those two phrases may or may not be compatible.
I can ask Alice, Paul and Micheal downstairs for breakfast. So, should these three people ever show up at my house, I have that covered!
I wouldn't want to hurt Fred but then he does speak German and I can wish him a, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" ... Oh yes ... That is me ... One fluent fish.
If you plan on living in the USA in the future, we will all be speaking Spanish, or Spanglish. My daughter learned Spanish and has a degree in it, my son, an engineer, has German. Soon he will need to learn Chinese, in his industry. So basically, it depends upon what your career path will be as to what languages may be needed...
