If you are speaking of negative thinking, it can get to be a habit. Keep a journal of your thoughts for the day. Notice how many times you are angry, critical or expressing your dislike of people and things. If you are doing that everyday, chances are you need to find something new to occupy your mind. Take up a new hobby, start exercising daily, read a book. Break your normal routine and stop doing what you're doing.

When unwanted thoughts or feelings begin immediately start listing all of the blessings in your life. Your family, friends, co-workers, home, clean running water, electricity, disposal of waste water. your vehicle, furniture, food....the list goes on. When you start to realize that your life is filled with blessings -even those we may take for granted (like being healthy) you will be filled with gratitude instead of a negative thought and feeling.
