Internet marketing for small business - 8,100 global monthly searches
Marketing in new york - 49,500 global monthly searches
What concerns me is that with the higher searched keyword would a lot of the searches be people looking for marketing jobs in new york rather than to purchase marketing services? So essentially those people would leave the site and hurt my score right?
Any thoughts on this?

One thing, don't look at keywords as your looking at your 2nd one, that it would be for people looking for jobs etc. That is not really that important but what really is important that you keep in mind the competition rate while looking through the keywords tool, whether it is high or low. If for say you think a keyword suits your site and has extremely high competition it won't do you much good as this means that the other sites out there have done and are doing <not only did I break the link, I removed your company name too> for the same keyword for their site too. And most of them will be through high-end SEO providers.
