    Heard this???

Celebrating birthdays at school just got a little less fun for kids in Australia. New guidelines issued Tuesday by the country's National Health and Medical Research Council say that children can no longer blow out the candles on cakes at school because doing so spreads too many germs.

    Sadly, this makes sense.......

With all the "safety rules" that are placed on kids just being kids, I'm surprised that any of us ever made it to adulthood! We were allowed to run outside in the playground, wrestle on the ground, throw a ball back and forth, chase each other around the school yard, play ball with no umpire, use the swings and slides, even climb a tree (at one school). Heaven forbid! Lock those kids up in a classroom, in front of a computer screen....so they don't get hurt. And of course, never, ever let them blow out birthday candles on a cake. Someone could die!

We do not have birthdays at school, so if they can without candles, I guess they are lucky!
