    what can I do when my landlord locked me out in winter with nothing

    Go to your town's social services office. They should be able to find you shelter. What town are you in? I'll try and find the closest office for you. I just need your town and state.

    Hmm, well in that case, I'm not sure how to direct you. My answer was based on help in the USA. We have some Canadian members, perhaps they can tell you where to find assistance. I'll search the internet to see if I can find a place for you to try.

    Why? If the law was being broken then the landlord may have some rights, if you did not pay any rent the landlord has the right, but there are no details here as to the 'why' of it...so you could provide more info or contact your local landlord-tenant board for advice. Peace. Good luck.

    there was know lease agreement,It was my falt I guess for trusting this person but when he left his job and decided on taking up drinking 24/7 things changed and when he cought wind I was moving out in the new year,he kept my stuff and changed the locks saying that I had never payed rent owe well now Im just rambling on sorry
