Apparently the life of a laptop is between 3 and 4 years. Who knew? Everyone but me, I guess. :)

The tech fellow said that there is a 3 year warranty available for a reason. He also said exactly what you said and told me that they quite often "die" immediately after the warranty runs out but he just repaired one yesterday, that was 9 years old. Oh well, I consider myself fortunate to have been able to afford to buy a new one.

Commadore 16. It's not as slow at night when traffic dies down. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 16k dial-up modem but not until the prices come down a bit.
