Do the work you are assigned to this year and you'll be set for next year. Don't worry too much all of the 6th graders will be new to middle school and the teachers will help you figure it out. So will the nice 7th and 8th graders.

Middle school is a transition period of adolescence, if you do what you are required, make friends with the right crowd, you should be fine. Since you will be required to move about the building, and remember where things are and locker combinations, etc. make some strategies that will help you to learn where things are, etc. And the teachers and staff are there for you, just ask when you do not understand, do not be afraid to ask! Get involved in all the variety of activities which there will be offered, it will make you special, and you will grow as a person. Good luck!
