Yes I do. I have more than one. Even though I have been stabbed in the back by a few whom I "thought" were friends, that would never keep me from trusting the next one. Call me gullible I guess, but I can't imagine a life without friends.

Most of us have been in that situation, pythonlover. It really takes a lot of time and effort to get past that deceit. One of my false friends was my ex-husband. Those false friends have a bad effect on future relationships. Hoping you have gotten past that false friend.

Most definitely. Some to sooth a broken heart, some to borrow from, some just to talk to, and some for emergency....etc.

I don't collect a lot of friends,I'm too outspoken.I talk differently to what I appear to be here.Very direct.A lot of people don't like it,especially when it's the truth.So called friends have tried to use me because of my background as well.That's another reason for not colecting them.My wife is my best friend.We are in separable.

Me too. My husband is my best friend. I get along with people in my life but finding a true friend is almost impossible for me. I feel like I have some good friends here.

I have several very good friends, a couple since high school, some 45+ years ago. I have many that literally would give me their last dollar, should I need it!

I believe that those are the kinds of friends that I have also. I don't ask people for favors or help...I just try to get along without whining or talking about things very much...so maybe I would be shocked if I DID ask! I've been friends with one woman for 58 years. We live in different cities but just spoke on the phone last week! :)
