I am told that I cannot file for bankruptcy because I sold a small house my late father left me

I had to carry the note because I could not find a buyer with good credit. The title was change to their name by a reputable title company. Is this true? I am leaving the house to my son, so could I transfer the mortgage to him now?

This is a world wide question and answer forum. Bankruptcy laws vary from country to country so we need more information in order to refer you for some assistance. My guess, however, is that no matter where you live, you cannot declare bankruptcy unless you are completely broke. You own a house, so you are not!
