Connect Using HDMI

Check the television to make sure an HDMI input is available.

Check to ensure there is an HDMI output on the computer's graphics card. You can check the graphics card outputs on the computer for an HDMI port, or you can check the manual that came with the computer of the graphics card.

Unplug the computer from any monitor it may be connected to and set it next to the TV. Plug any necessary cables back into the computer.

Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the computer's HDMI port and plug the other end into an available HDMI port on the TV.

Turn on the Vizio television and press the "HDMI" button on the Vizio remote until you arrive at the HDMI input where you plugged in the computer. Turn on the computer. The computer should be displayed on the television.
Connect Using VGA Cable

Check that the Vizio TV has a VGA input. The VGA input typically will be located on the lower, back right side of the TV.

Check whether the VGA cable on the back of the computer monitor will detach. If it does not, you must purchase a new one to connect to the TV.

Unplug the computer from the monitor and set it next to the television. Plug any necessary cables back into the computer.

Plug one end of the VGA cable into the computer and the other end into the television.

Turn on the television and press the "Input" button on the Vizio remote until you arrive at the "RGB" input. Turn on the computer. The computer should be displayed on the television.
