There are major differences in Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Catholicism, Hinduism, Mormon, Jehovah Witness, and all the rest I am not mentioning. In Christianity, though, you will find many different subsections; Baptists, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Methodist are just a few examples. I'd suggest you look at "Wikipedia" for some basic information on religion. Your question would take a books to answer completely.
