What are you having (serving) for Christmas dinner?

I have a recipe for a very simple fruit salad. Everybody likes it.  Anybody need it?

Drain all canned fruits very well. Double the recipe if you're serving a large group. Add little marshmallows if you want to make this salad into a desert.

    2 cansof pineapple tidbits
    2 cans of manderin oranges
walnuts (how ever much you want)
    Marachino Cherries
Little marshmallows (If you want to call it desert. Leave them out for a fruit salad)
After all these years I still get good comments on it!

James' mom is having chili and we're going to New Braunfels to spend the day with her. I'll make cheese dip to go with it......

Sure, I'd like the simple recipe!

I see you all sitting around a bowl of chili with the cheese dip by the side. The fire is roaring and you're all smiling. LOL.
    Over the river
    and through the woods
    to New Brunfels we go
    The horse knows the way
    to pull that sleigh
Through cold and drifting snoooowwww oh!

    Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas. @itsmee! It's supposed to be in the 70's Christmas day but I refuse to wear shorts!
    itsmee

I totally forgot the your weather was NOT going to be snow. Oh well ...
When you said, 70's, I thought briefly that it was going to be a 70's theme. Mercy!

Merry, merry and a very good Year!

Ham and trimmings, like every Christmas. I much rather have turkey,, but everyone wants ham.

YOU CAN A SLICE OF MY TURKEY ANN,AND A FEW BRUSSELS,
    itsmee

Ann, Well, I would have to vote HAM. Sometimes turkey just tastes so ... fowl.
    Wish we could trade plates.
Hector: I fix brussel sprouts so they are candied. So good! Cute little cabbages. Anyway, everyone went "ewwwwww! brussel sprouts" and they wouldn't touch 'em.
    Merry Christmas to Ann

Traditional for us...pretty close to this.

Turkey, dressing (stuffing), potatoes, gravy, carrots, cranberries, cole slaw.

After all of this.....cookies, tea, coffee.

And for those who choose, we start with a glass of wine.

And for those who choose, we end with a glass of wine.  :)

This was exactly what we had for Christmas Eve. We had my fruit/desert salad and broccoli salad which is supposidly the favorite of the George Bush family. We eat again today at my house. Pizza and allll the trimings. I had way too much sugar. It was like I got drunk.
In saying this, I’m not making any comment on the character of the Bush family.

A spiral ham with all the trimmings , and of course a glass of white wine...!!

    Merry Christmas, itsmee.

We are having Prime Rib beef roast.  and there will be tons of sides.  This year it will be at our daughter's home, so it includes some extra running around, but will be fun.

My ex mother in - law used to make the most delicious Prime Rib for Christmas. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Enjoy!

I've made a coleslaw, a potato salad and i will make a trifle later on tonight. That is my contribution to the family lunch. At the moment here in Australia (Christmas eve) we are sweltering in the heat.I hope it cools off for tomorrow.  *<I:-)

I forget about this weather difference. In California, it’s bone chilling. Too hot in the summer. Too cold in the winter. The happy spot is Christmas & lights & gifts for the kids & the grown ups & even Peeve. Merry hot Christmas, Python.
    bustieone

Hi python, we are possibly getting a snow flurry tonight, it is always magical to wake up to a white christmas. Have you ever seen snow? Most of our Aussie relatives had not, as they are from Townsville, and Rockhampton. Merry Christmas to you...

I have no idea- I'm not hosting this year...but Mom always makes a most yummy pecan pie!

    itsmee

Yum ... Well, young friend I wish you the very best of the holiday. <3

I did it a little awkwardly this year, I knew I wouldn't be able to eat at Christmas time, so I had chicken, ham and turkey late Nov, but my husband enjoyed a chicken salad lunch with a few Tooheys out in the boat for lunch today, I settled for a long cool water.

I truly hope you are better soom Lambie. xo Fishie

me too, I'm starving but can't swallow food,if I ever see another smoothie it'll be too soon xx

I understand... for a while I had a similar experience with my allergies. One can only be sooooo creative. I did have a school mate who lost 125lbs on a raw-smoothie diet. She announced one day that she had mastered Pizza in the blender. Very exciting! (It didn't sound that good to me) :)
    lambshank

At this point, think I.d even try that, starving! and I don't want to go back to hospital
    millie111

    Yep..from me to lambie..hope you`re better soon!Xxx

Do not play on this forum. I'm not going to keep deleting your little kid postings. This is the only answer of yours I could actually leave. I'll just delete you if you continue.
