And the terrible thing is that those that don't believe in discipline by the hand and insist on 'understanding and time out' are the very same ones that are bringing disrespect for authority and no respect for others around them, to these people a child only needs to be fed and clothed, they don't understand the instinct they are born with and they fight it as not socially acceptable, meanwhile they allow their kids to run free- i am in retail (piano) I see these kids everyday, they have no respect, they bang on pianos, smear candy on the keys and parents ignore them and if i say something, the parents get mad at me and leave--even though their ruthless rowdy kids have torn up the place and annoy other customers that are actually playing pianos. This PC policy of raising kids with 'a talking to' and time out has had over 30 years to prove itself since Dr. Spock's book. It doesn't work! Spock is a failure and he didn't even have children, yet parents listened to him.. The way kids are today and thei disrespect for everything is the result of 'spare the rod' upbringing.. And I don't mean beat the kids so much that they bleed, this is cruelty. These frigging people raise their dogs and cats better than they raise their kids.
