Why do I sneeze so much when I haven't got a cold?

The lining of my nose is very dry and itchy

That is one of the reasons you are sneezing- the dry air from heated buildings.  Check the filter in your home and change it regularly.  Drink more uncaffinated fluids!!!

Hi doolittle. Thanks for your interest. I'm a bit puzzled when you suggest that I check/change the filters in my home. Are you in the UK? I'm not aware that I have a filter unless it's known by another name. Could you come back to me on that one.
As for drinking uncaffeinated fluids, I have about 3 coffees per day and fruit infusions and soda or plain water the rest of the time.

The plain water is the only thing out of that list that will dehydrate your body. Get a hepafilter air purifier for your home. Get tested for allergies and put a humidifier in your room for when you are sleeping.

    Thanks C.

Food allergies can also cause strange bodily reactions.  Have you ever kept a food diary?  When you start sneezing, note the foods/beverages that you have consumed and exactly how much time has passed since consumed.  You may find a pattern.

You will need to see an allergist to determine what is bugging you, dust, pollen, pet hair, chemicals, etc.

Allergies, dust, flowers, pollen, mites all sorts make you sneeze. I have fiited carpets for years,  and the dust and fibes even from new carpets make me sneeze. Something that makes me sneeze is those new smelly things that women seem to like to have all over the place perfumed liquids in little bottles, all that sort of thing makes me sneeze.

    Hello sunnyB
Thanks for your comments. I don't use 'those smelly things' you refer to. I think you are right in suggesting that it's an allergy. It's a matter of finding out what!

    "those smelly things"...men? (lol)
    just kidding.

My dear wife sneezes after eating chocolate but it doesn't stop her eating it.

Of course not...it's worth the 'misery'. :)
