I don't think it was a hoax (but I do get a kick out of conspiracy theories).  We have this thing called the space station now, and with the ultra tight budget NASA has it is heading there instead- and probing other planets.... Pink Floyd did make the Dark Side of the Moon enjoyable ;)

Personally I think it is likely all a hoax...I don't believe for a second that the technology of the '60s would have made a trip to the moon at all probable, in fact, it was impossible. Do a comparison of then and now and see for yourself! The hoax was psychological by nature and designed to cause fear and cautious 'respect' among the nations etc. etc. etc. 'Hollywood' had a major hand in the fiasco production-wise and it seems logical to assume that the payoffs went on for many, many years. I would not concern myself with going to the moon...Earth needs us more!!!

Because we were told by the aliens who live in the moon to never come back! They can see the mess we are making out of this planet and do not want us doing the same to the moon.

I was surprized too, that the U.S. never again sent a man to the moon. But, I guess they don't do it ,b/c it's too expensive, and too dangerous. It cheaper and easier to use robotics.....like that Martian lander. ( forgot it's name )
