1 Answer
Latex gloves
Replacement headlight bulb
Instructions
1
Make sure the headlight switch inside the Liberty is in the "Off" position.
2
Open the hood to access the headlight bulb(s).
3
Remove the air intake tube if you are replacing the passenger-side headlight bulb. The air intake tube will simply unsnap by hand, and its removal will allow better access to the headlight bulb. If replacing the driver's side headlight, proceed to Step 4.
4
Disconnect the wire harness going to the headlight socket. For people with large hands, this might present an awkward challenge to access.
5
Turn the blue collar counterclockwise one-third of a turn to disconnect it from the headlight assembly.
6
Remove the headlight bulb from the collar and discard it.
7
Put on the latex gloves.
8
Open the blister package of the new headlight bulb, and insert the bulb into the blue collar base.
9
Insert the collar and bulb assembly into the headlight assembly, and align the tabs of the collar and bulb to the notches in the headlight assembly.
10
Turn the collar and bulb assembly clockwise one-third of a turn to lock it into place.
11
Plug the wire harness plug back into the back of the headlight.
12
Turn the lights on to make sure they're working properly.
13
Replace the air intake tube if you replaced the passenger side headlight bulb. Remove the packaging and old bulb if necessary before closing the hood.
