Need answer on washer machine problems?

Maytag washer. Model # MVWC6ESWW1  s/n CD1743331, Put clothes in and put lid down and start cycle. Agitater and water comes on. Normally, water fill awhile, then agitaer comes on for a few seconds and stop as water continues. It has auto. water level. Also at end of cycle the clothes are wet, wet. It has about 1/2" water in tub. Is this a timer problem?

Sounds like a timer, in which it is not turning to the correct position on the cycle.  Try it with a cycle that you seldom use, Ex. Perm. Press or perhaps Delicate cycle, to see if it completes the cycle (with water draining, and clothes wrung properly so not too wet).  That may verify that the problem is in the timer.  You do have a section in the manual that has a hotline, with this you can ask their technician for advise in troubleshooting, and sometimes repairing the problem.

Check he manual here for trouble shooting tips.
