    How long do I have to keep Income Tax records---bank records--and utility bills ?

    What I do.

    Utility bills, only until the next one comes in showing credit of past payment.

    Bank records only for the past month. I do online banking so everything is recorded right there. Before on line banking, I kept my records for 6 months.

    Taxes, 7 years.
    I keep all my records for 7 years.

    Oh no, not utility bills. I only keep them for a year.
