    What could cause severe chest pain for the last 6 weeks?

    I'm having lots of pain in the middle of my chest, plus the top of my stomach where a person would have a hiatal hernia and in the middle of my back.  I've had hiatal hernias in the past and had surgery and the doctors put in a screen.  Could a hernia be causing the chest pain?

      It could be so many things.


      Gallbladder comes to mind, too.

        Me too but the pain was up in that area for me.

        Don't mess around with chest pains, though.

        What if they said to you, "We could have easily fixed this if you'd come to us weeks ago."

        Try Antacids but book emergency GP appt at the same time! Any acid may temp cAlm the symptoms but u must get a Drs opinion ASAP! am signing a disclaimer here as antacids mAy alievIate symptoms but you need proper med opinion !

          Get to the E R as soon as possible !  Any chest pain, especially severe chest pain that goes thru to your back,and lingers, HAS to be treated as a heart attack. That doesn't mean you're having a heart attack, it just means you have to be treated as one untill they determine what it is.

            Do you have any symptoms of pneumonia?  It could be that.

              Im not in a position to diagnose but pneumonia signs are p
              Often sharp pleuritic chest pains and shortness of breath!! Not always but please see ur GP...the sooner the better! All the best Millie cx
