What responsibility does letting agent have towards private tennant

For the past 3 months as result of a water leak my wife and I have had to live with very damp conditions and mould growth and bare concrete floors in bathroom and passageway and bare wooden floor in kitchen.  Our letting agent has done nothing to help and does not contact us to see current situation. Cant get anyone from local Council to help us.   It has taken over 3 months for the plumber to find and fix the leak located under bathroom floor.   I am 80 years of age and both my wife and I are having health problems we think through the damp and mould growth

Have you looked at your lease agreement?

The relevant information should be there.

Thanks, I suppose you mean my letting contract. There is no mention anywhere as to resposibility of a letting agent towards a tennant so I need to look elsewhere for am answer, perhaps there is some legislation?
