You should go to 2 places in your computer to check for Add-on tools:
1) Internet Explorer -> Tools menu -> Internet Options: and in there go to the "Advanced" tab. If there is a particular entry on that list for the Add-on program, you'll be able to tick it off;
2) Control Panel -> Add & Remove Software: in there you may be able to check all major programs installed on your machine. Be careful though, because some programs install themselves as a "bundle" -sometimes unwanted- from other software installed previously. Such programs (many of them from GAIN softwarehouse) do that without your explicit consent, so the only way of getting rid of them is by uninstalling the main software.
Always backup your system regularly, so in case you find out your computer is infected with unwanted add-ons you'll be able to get rid of everything and still have your files intact.
