Yes I know a lot of people who have BPD...it's not a taboo and if you are then keep plugging away until you get the help you need! Don't feel alone... Sadly these days people often have to push to get help when they least feel like fighting! But please go for it ...I've seen friends and patients achieve huge things and more importantly be well and have peace of mind! Very good luck xx

I do/am and medicate heavily but, I'm OK now........

That's great news Julie!...It often takes some time sorting out the meds and dosages...but when it's right it's great to see people getting better...depression is terrible but no one should feel isolated by it these days!..good on you! Xx

I hope it was a fab one!;)..you deserve it!....(btw yep I sure do understand depression ...I struggled huge time with it in my teens and twenties...I don't think that anyone completely understands it if they've never experienced it)?!:/ xxxmills

jh, are you on disability ?

    Yep.........

I have had that and it was sever when I was a kid…..ATD, BP, Hyperactivity, low blood sugar, etc/etc. When I was a kid diagnostics and treatment could land you in a morgue, blind or in a vegetative state. I was lucky enough to survive, but I could be dead…who knows?  The mental health folk are much better now.

Ive struggled with it since about 18.... Im 35 now and Ill say its been a battle for sure. I have took every kind of meds known to man and I was in 2 different hospitals just last year. I take several different medications now including Lithium and it seems to be working ok for now.. I dont tell alotta people cause they wanna judge or think your crazy. When I go into a manic state I just dont come outta the house and dont talk to anyone and sometimes it might be 2 weeks before I get back to "my normal". Good luck and be sure and let Your Drs know of any changes you have.

It must be close to impossible to stay inside when you’re manic.

My friend's grandson has been in and out of prison. He's 23 now. This last time he got out, he said he was diagnosed as having bi-polar disorder, and got some meds for it. Says he feels a lot better. Got a full-time job in a ware-house. Hope he isn't temped to sell his drugs on the street. I think he'll make it this time, b/c he's gotten that help.
