In order to find where are files downloaded with Wise converter you can open the Wise converter and see what what are the definitions of the folder to which downloads are downloaded.

thanks jenp! But the problem is I can only find wise convertor in my add/remove programs. It shows nowhere on my laptop, not even under downloads. I naturally assumed the icon would be installed on my desktop.

You can try using the search function: click the 'Start' icon and then choose 'Search'. Type 'Wise' and click 'Enter'.
If you can't find it, I think you should uninstall it, and then install it again, only this time pay attention to where the software is installed at.
