That's up to you. You're the one who needs to be comfortable. Few therapists go on life experience when working with clients. They are all book learned. They deal with clients according to what the book/s said. According to that, experience working with similar clients seems more important than age. 

Oh no. I would suggest that you only see someone over the age of 70! They are the wisest.  LOL!

a young therapist could be fresh and open minded ,and view what your confiding in a  very diffrent  light than a more mature therapist ....old ones seem to stereo type   and get set in there ways .eg...if 2  people have simalar problems they seem 2 b delt with the same way....instead of  using diffrent strokes 4 diff folks...as long as u feel comfortable why not...ide try it 4 change

Age shouldn’t matter when it comes to therapy, but as a 36-year old, I’d rather see someone who is at least slightly older than I am. I want someone who has experience, but there are some people who are under 30 who have a lot to offer.

It really does depend on how comfortable you are with them. If you don’t feel you are getting anywhere with anyone, regardless of age, then discontinue with them and move on.

Training/credentials, experience, and professionalism

Informed consent and other legal issues

Communication and client focus

Empathy and the therapeutic relationship

Progress

At any rate, I hope you eventually found the right therapist for you.
