    No, you don't qualify if you live in the UK.

    What kind of benefits do you think you are entitled to for paying rent? What country do you live in? Here in the USA, there are no benefits for paying rent.

    OK, you got an answer from someone in the UK.

    Here in the US there are a lot of people who cheat the system.  Boyfriends living with "single mothers" and kids.  She gets welfare, he lives there, and we support him, as well as what law provides (she and kids).  There are people who prey upon we taxpayers who support these federally sponsored programs.  Don't get me wrong, my mom was on assistance for some years as a divorced woman with 6 kids.  Thus I do understand that there are folks who are in need.  By the way, we got off assistance, and she returned to work when kids were old enough!
