I was one of the "popular" girls. There were about six of us. I'd go to "the city" with them and they'd shout mean words at the street people.I hated that. I wore the wrong kind of knee socks and a couple of them ripped them off me. Terrible. Worse things happened. One time, for some strange reason, none of them were there at lunch time. I looked around the campus and had absolutely no one to have lunch with. I took a book and went into the rest room for part of the time and then I walked around like I had some place to go. It was so much worse than I say. I made a couple of other friends who weren't in the click. They came to my house but my mom didn't approve of them.

Horrific. One of the worst periods of my life. Moved to a different state 3 wks into my 9th High school year when we moved to NC from FL. I was shy, this was a BIG, very qlickish, school and I knew NOONE. Horrble. Even though I was the Senior Editor of our Yearbook that year I felt I had almost no real friends. No desire to go back WHAT SO EVER,.. Such uch!!!! 1978-1982.

My classmates always thought they were a little better than me! (money) I went to one class reunion! Some were friendly, but they did not remember me! I saw one picture in a yearbook identified as me. NOT! Surprize I get no more invites to reunion. Ha ha Lost address? I had fun being a wild child!
