You may try the following:
Tools >> Internet Options >> General Tab >> Change how WebPages are displayed in Tabs >> Settings >> When a New tab is opened, open >> From the drop down select "the New tab page".
If the above step doesn’t help, then you may try to optimize the internet Explorer.
