Instructions
1
Flip the ignition kill switch to the "Off" position and disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug, located near the throttle trigger.
2
Remove the spark plug from the engine, using the combination wrench tool supplied with your chainsaw.
3
Remove the screws securing the pull starter assembly and chain guard cover from the right side of the chainsaw, using the screwdriver portion of the combination wrench tool. Remove the two large nuts securing the chain bar to the side of the chainsaw.
4
Lift off the pull starter assembly, side cover and chain bar from the chainsaw, exposing the large round centrifugal clutch mounted on the engine's crankshaft.
5
Install the piston locking screw into the engine's spark plug hole.
6
Remove the center-mounted nut that secures the centrifugal clutch to the engine's crankshaft, using the combination wrench tool. Rotate the combination wrench clockwise when removing the crankshaft nut, as the crankshaft features a left-hand thread pattern.
7
Pull the clutch assembly off the crankshaft to finish the removal process.
