    Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is an annual plant in the family Fabaceae. The plant has small round leaves is cultivated worldwide as a semi-arid crop and is a common ingredient in dishes from Pakistan and the Indian Subcontinent, where it is known as methi in Urdu, Hindi and Nepali, as menthiyam and venthayam  in Kannada uluwa in malayalam' 'menthulu in Telugu"
