    Why do loggers leave circles of trees in a giant clearcut area?

    Thank you for the feedback guys. It was something i've been wondering about for awhile.

    Maybe to encourage natural regeneration.

    There it is nomdeplume,good answer...

    Perhaps it's just a staging area , so that they can come back at another time to retrive them..

    nomdeplume has it right and also by leaving areas still planted it prevents soil erosion .
