Social Security has found me guilty of taking money from my mother. My mother had not been paid my father's social security for 32 years. She had only received S.S.I. benefits. And she would have been on Social Security and not under the scrutininy of S.S.I. She would have been paid almost $300 more a month when she retired. My mother got a letter for soc. security about 4 years ago saying they owed her $134000.00. They withheld $100000.00 which is what they had paid her in S.S.I. They did not pay any interest either. My mother gave me $34000.00 as a gift and Social Security deposited it in my account. Now they have come back on me and want the money back stating my mother has alzheimer's. She does NOT. Her doctor attested to that. My mother was 94 and living in a VERY nice nursing. Before that she had lived with me. I LOVE my mother and would NEVER take anything from her. I am appalled that Soc. Sec. things I stole from my own mother. I am now a felon at age 76. I cannot not vote. And Soc. Sec. is taking my entire check away from me AND my medicare. I will not get soc sec until 2015. I have NO other money. I am using my charge cards. And I can't even pay my monthly payments so am taking cash advances to make credit card payments from the credit cards I already owe. HELP!! I am desperate. Is there anyone out there that can help me find an attorney that would help me?

Since you did not give the country nor the city where you live, I can only suggest that you look in your telephone directory under "Lawyers" or "Attorneys". Did you try that yet? Or, you could try the same thing in your search engine.
We cannot give legal advice here as we are not qualified to do so.
