    how can i avoid paying inheritance tax.

    If you just inherited property or money recently YOU CAN'T.
    If you have elderly parents its best to have them sell the home to you so you don't get hit with the taxes. This has to be done FIVE YEARS prior to their passing.

    Get moving. :)
    TSC is right...don't know if moving to Canada or another country would help as you probably couldn't come back without the possibility of being "found".
