Yes they are, unless of course you receive a robo call, which is a recorded message. Telemarketers are 'real people' who are desperate for work because they have (extravagant) expenses such as....rent, food, and clothing. Telemarketing firms pay decent money, often with paid benefits such as medical. This job keeps unemployed people from accepting social assistance, while being sworn at for hours everyday!

Got a call once from what I thought was my local electric company ... nope ... India calling! They outsourced all calls to India for crying out loud. I had to hang up. lol Couldn't understand a thing,
My wife says " unless you got someone there who can speak English,i am hanging up" ,,however we do not get many calls these days since i run my phone through my computer..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
