Oops! I responded to the first edition...I'll be back.... :D
I received a very cool email about trees from a friend and had posted my favorite from that, which was almost a zoo full of carvings. It was here for a while, then turned into one of those small boxes. I deleted it and inserted this instead. Wish I did know this tree. All the contributions are beautiful, but, again, I think that I shall never see much more beautiful than a tree.
They are incredibly patient compassionate beings. I recently heard that they actually nurture sick trees by extending root systems and providing the right nutrients to ill trees nearby! Astounding news! Yes..I love trees too Bob. :)

O yes, look in the mirror or at your avatar and you will see 'much more beautiful'.
Greetings Puran.

Bobette; A large part of self awareness is forgiveness. Personally, I feel that is the toughest part. :)
@Fishlet: Your right! Let the love flow for oneself without being selfis and the forgiving of oneself are the most difficult things to do, but give so much light and love in ones heart.
@Bob/PKB: Sorry to bother again, I 'see' a very beautiful and strong light in your heart. If you only could let go the clouds of tears that are visible just before the port to your heart, the right person could see that light in your eyes and give love a rebirth. (I have no wrong intentions, if you want mail take my name and put the line starting with @ in my profile behind it.)

Exactly...scares the crap out of the bad guys...so do facial masks!! And Owls over the doorway allow no-one stupid in!! ;)
And put a worry basket made of Cedar near the front door and when people ask, tell them it's to put their worries in BEFORE they enter as we do not want our home bombarded with other peoples' cra..er..I mean..worries!!
I found the one that hangs in my front door in a little tourist town in British Columbia that specializes in items from around the world. The other one actually came from Turkey. A friend brought it back.
I have another one somewhere in my studio... if I can find it, you are welcome to it, Doo.

doolittle, lindilou, Fishlet, my goodness, all you really need is a big dog with a loud bark and lots of slobber!
Puran: It never fails to astound me when someone sees the tears on my heart in my eyes. I will write to you soon. Thank you.

Willow is my favourite...

PKB...I used to have four that grew out of a central trunk and were enormous but one fell and the others had to be take down. It was so sad.
Lol, Lindi...I almost did shed a tear when my willows came down.

I DO cry when trees come down...just a big woosy when it comes to these patient, sentient beings...they hold wisdom and compassion...I love them deeply..I hug them and tell them so!(even in public...it's sad...I know, but, I'm of an age where I really do not give a fashizzle what anyone else may judge me as...Aha! Hug a tree today...hell..everyday! :D
The dog took me for a walk today and there is a beautiful willow hanging over the canal. It is such a pretty spot, but the tree is what makes it special.
I love Magnolia Trees...

There's a 40+ year old in one of our gardens and is so magnificent that we have allowed it a free reign...parts of an old trellis are actually embedded in the huge trunks of it...gnarly magnificence I must say! ;)
Cherry Blossom trees.

Unfortunately Sakura or Cherry Blossoms bear no fruits (that I know of) but are Japan's national flower, I think. They bloom once a year and the blooms each April at Ueno Park in Tokyo are so breath taking. Can you imagine the entire park all white for 3 weeks?
It would be breathtaking, no doubt. I love the orchards in full bloom. A whole park would be amazing.
No fair. I don't know how to xfer pictures and I don't have a favorite tree. Any would do as long as they were climbable.......

You can copy and paste... it usually takes two tries. Super easy!
For example, Type in pictures of trees. Hit search... images of trees will come up. Open that page. Scroll through the pictures until you find one you like. Right click, scroll down to copy... left click on copy. Go to "Answer" box in question, refresh the start bar, right click, choose paste... if it doesn't work - repeat... and La La La!

Not so lindilou, tree originates from China, tho I am sure some examples are growing in the USA. When in New Zealand I saw many which had grown to impressive size in no more than 60 years.

This tree also known as the Dawn Redwood was long considered extinct but was discovered growing in a remote area of China in 1944. It is a fast-growning tree and one I have in my garden has grown to about 15 metres in 15 years.
Love all trees

Both pics are delicious to my eyes!!
There have been times here on the Island that you could go ski on lovely snow pack in June at Mt. Washington...then come down and do a bit of body surfing the same day!! We have Palm trees but they're all specialty plantings and not native to the Northwest Coast in the least! They aclimate very nicely though! ;)

Another interesting tree is Wollemia nobilis, the Wollemi pine, which was considered extinct but some were found growing in a canyon not far from Sydney Australia about 10 years ago. These are now available commercially; I must get one.
