    what age do you finish school in the uk?

    i thought that everyone finishes school at the age of 16 in the uk, but all my friends keep telling me that its 18.....

    16. Only AFTER you complete your GCSEs.
    The age may be rising shortly.


    As part of a new law teenagers will continue in education or training until the age of 18. The new Act will raise the education leaving age to 17 in 2013 and to 18 from 2015.

    16 only when you have finished your GCSEs but will be rising in 2013 to 17 then 18 in 2015.
