I was amazed to see that Fireworks can be bought in Wall-Mart stores and road side tents set up throughout the area. (NC)

    And COLD LAGER thank god.

    Indeed!

Only on certain nights of the year.  Halloween, July 1st and and New Years Eve.

Yes they are, so now we just make pipe bombs  a bit more exciting..

Yes, they're legal were I live in Ontario, Canada.

They are banned in Australia, but the strange thing is, Canberra,  Australias capital territory, still sells them.Too many idiots were running around putting crackers in peoples mail boxes, scaring animals, fires, etc.

They have been outlawed here since the '70s. They started too many fires. Only fireworks shows organised by professional pyro-technicians are available here now.

Nope not in Australia but people still sell them.. there is always a black market ...

Generally no, unless you have a "Pyrotechnic Engineers" License from the state.

Having said that, one see and hears fireworks for days before and after the 4TH but the Police will never bother with he offenders

They just made them legal in Maine at the beginning of the year, after being outlawed for about fifty years.

Thant doesn't seem to make sense. I was up at Sebec Lake two years ago and we couldn't make an outdoor fire because of fire danger. Of course, conditions were dry, but why UN-BAN them now?
    Shootah

I really don't know why they lifted the ban on them. But, I know a lot of what goes on regarding open fires has to do with how high they rate the forest fire danger at the time.

My State goes by the County- the really populated counties do not allow personal fireworks.  The less populated counties allow them.

    yes
